Manatee Players: $250K for new theater in Bradenton OK'd by TDC


It's a done deal.

Almost.

The Tourist Development Council just authorized up to $250,000 in matching money to help the Manatee Players complete its unfinished downtown Bradenton theater.

The money would come from extra bed-tax earnings due to a highly successful winter tourist season.

The council's recommendation now goes to the Manatee County Commission for final approval.

The Players plan to open the Manatee Performing Arts Center next March in time for a production of "Miss Saigon."
